You are told over and over again if you don't do certain things it is sin and rebellion and you will go to hell. They also teach lies about people that believe in the trinity and say they believe in 3 gods this is not true. Trinity people believe there is one god also. My husband left the UPC and started attending another church. I dug my heels in and refused to leave and I started praying that God would show me for sure if I was suppose to stay in UPC and that their truth is really the truth. Instead he started dealing with me daily about my unsubmission to my husband and very patiently showed me over and over again how UPC teachings that if your are not baptizied in Jesus Name baptizism you are going to Hell, Jesus Only godhead, and many other teaches were not true. It was only after I left the UPC and had been out of that movement for about a month that I had ever felt the true grace of God and felt assured in my salvation. Unconditional love, self righteous judgement, and teachings from the pulpit that we must be perfect in everyway as well as being told by the pastors what is sin on many things considering our outward appearance (for example,at one church if you don't wear sleeves to your wrist is a sin but in another UPC church down the road it is only a sin if the sleeves don't go to your elbow....how can this be if God is the same everywhere and sin is sin) are not Christ or Bibically based. Christians did not like the fact wiccans wouldnt convert so they decided to attempt to "destroy" wicca by using varies comments with the bible (they even told all other christians that our horned god was the devil making the rest of england hate us and want us dead)... which can i just say is a book. Our bible is the air we breath, the ground we walk... you would have known that if you were a true wiccan. And the spells we cast are not the ones you see in "charmed" or any other crap. It is usuing our will to help those who need it/want it. AND WICCANS WHO HAVE A CELL IN THEIR BRAIN DO NOT USE OUIJI BOARDS. Ouiji boards are not to played with in ANY way. dangerous beings can come from them... and most people know this and therefore would not even dream of using one. You clearly didnt learn much about wicca at all did you? If you did, you would know this is a religion were you are set free... No, no wicca is not a religion... it is a way of life. The true path of life. And if you cant see that then maybe you are not ready for wicca. Those who are not ready are lost souls... Or maybe even misguided by religions such as Christianity (no offence). I personally believe that you did not approach wicca as a way of life... but merely something to "test" out (maybe?). If your heart was set you would know the Pagans of the world. And as for saying "Those involved in Wicca and other aspects of the occult need the truth of the Gospel"... you try and try when you knock on our doors preaching... but when we KNOW what REAL wicca is about we know where our hearts belong. So there is not point preaching. I am not here to offend christians in any way... i am just defending wiccans.. and lastly. i dont think you quite understand the meaning of our magick. we do not use monocles to hypnotise or potions to "make" someone fall in love. We use herbs, crystals etc for the good of man (eg healing etc). we do not try to communicate with spirits persay but we wish to set them free, and call on them to join in our joy, we do not wish to leave them in solituted for the rest of eternity... like christians do. Because these "spirits" are our ancestors, our great great great great grandmothers/fathers... our friends. And in return they give us hope for the afterlife... and pass their energy down onto us. So we can carry on Wiccan. Blessed Be my friend.
