Is Obama Threatening to Divorce Israel? | Joel Rosenberg

from Charisma News.com

Is a divorce coming between the President of the United States and the State of Israel?

Once, it would have been almost preposterous even to ask such a question. Today, however, it feels like it’s a matter of “when,” not “if” Mr. Obama will formally abandon American support for the Jewish State. And the situation is rapidly going from bad to worse.

Readers of this blog may recall that I posted this column on January 14, 2015: “Will President Obama abandon or fully turn against Israel in last two years in office, amidst ISIS & Iran threats? Exclusive poll results.” According an exclusive poll I commissioned late last year, a remarkable 47.4 percent of Americans fear the President will turn against Israel soon given that he won’t ever face the voters again. I suspect the number would be much higher today.

Why do tyrants from Haman and Hitler to Hamas and Khamenei want to “annihilate” the Jews?| Joel Rosenberg

from Joel Rosenberg’s Blog

Which side are you on? Do you love and follow the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? Do you love the Lord Jesus Christ, who came to Israel, born as a Jew, raised as a Jew, lived as a Jew, taught to the Jews, healed the Jews, fulfilled Jewish prophecies, died as a Jew, and rose again on the third day, according to the Jewish Scriptures?

If so, if you have the Holy Spirit in you, then you cannot hate the people whom the Father and Son love so much. It is simply not possible.

A person who hates Jews but calls himself a “Christian” is a liar — he does not truly love and follow Jesus.

Anyone who calls himself or herself a true “Christian” — an honest, humble follower of Jesus — must love the Jewish people with unconditional love, and unwavering support.

We don’t have to agree with everything Israel says or does, or everything that every Jewish person says or does. What’s more, the Bible teaches we must also love the Arabs and the Iranians and all of Israel’s neighbors and enemies. But the Bible clearly and repeatedly teaches us to love and bless Israel and the Jewish people, and teaches that the Lord will bless those who do, and curse those who don’t.

This is why studying the Book of Esther is so important. This is why it’s so important to understand why celebrate the biblical holiday of Purim. Because it is in this book and in this holiday that we learn so much about the historical hatred of the Jewish people as well as what it means to love the Lord our God and to love the Jewish people He created and chose, just like Esther and Mordechai did.

“Then Mordecai told…Esther, ‘Do not imagine that you in the king’s palace can escape any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?'” (Esther 4:13-14)

Is the U.S on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood? | Joel Rosenberg

from BibleProphecyBlog.com

(Washington, D.C.)—The violence in Egypt is horrific, heart-breaking and painful to watch. The question is: What do we do about it?

The Wall Street Journal’s Bret Stephens writes a thought-provoking column today that I commend to your attention. The former editor-in-chief of the Jerusalem Post raises a very important question. He argues it is time for the U.S. government to be crystal clear: Is the U.S. on the side of the Egyptian military to defeat Radical Islam, restore some sense of law and order, and protect minority groups (like the Coptic Christians), or is the U.S. on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood which seeks to impose Radical Islam, establish Sharia law and spread the Islamic revolution?

Obama wanted red line for Syria …Joint Chiefs Chairman Opposes | Joel Rosenberg

from Joel Rosenberg’s Blog

Obama-threatens-to-attack-Syria3“The Obama administration is opposed to even limited U.S. military intervention in Syria because it believes rebels fighting the Assad regime wouldn’t support American interests if they were to seize power right now, according to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,” reports the Associated Press. “Effectively ruling out U.S. cruise missile attacks and other options that wouldn’t require U.S. troops on the ground, Gen. Martin Dempsey said in a letter to a congressman that the military is clearly capable of taking out Syrian President Bashar Assad’s air force and shifting the balance of the Arab country’s 2 1/2-year war back toward the armed opposition. But he said such an approach would plunge the United States deep into another war in the Arab world and offer no strategy for peace in a nation plagued by ethnic rivalries. ’Syria today is not about choosing between two sides but rather about choosing one among many sides,’ Dempsey said in the letter Aug. 19 to Rep. Eliot Engel, D-N.Y. ‘It is my belief that the side we choose must be ready to promote their interests and ours when the balance shifts in their favor. Today, they are not.’”

We are witnessing a terrible evil unleashed in Syria. There are no good answers at the moment for American or Western governments. We need to pray faithfully for the people of Syria. We also need to be aware that Bible prophecy indicates the city of Damascus will be utterly destroyed in the End Times in a divine judgment of its evil. The Bible does not say precisely when this judgment will occur, but it is not out of the question to think it could be coming soon in light of the recent carnage. This is all the more reason we need to be praying for the Christians in Syria to be brave, and to be bold. We should join with them to do everything possible to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all Syrians — especially those in Syria — before it is too late.

Abbas vows: “There will be no Israelis in Palestine” | Joel Rosenberg

from the blog of Joel Rosenberg

(Washington, D.C.) — “Even as talks for a permanent Israeli-Palestinian peace got off to a cautious start in Washington Monday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told reporters in Egypt that no Israelis would be allowed to remain in a future Palestinian state,” reports the Times of Israel.

“In a final resolution, we would not see the presence of a single Israeli — civilian or soldier — on our lands,” Abbas said following a meeting with interim Egyptian President Adly Mansour in Cairo.

Has the End Game Begun? | Joel Rosenberg

Privately, senior Israeli officials now warning Iran war could come in 2013. Netanyahu preparing public.

(Netanya, Israel) — Over the past several weeks, I have been hearing from current and former senior Israeli officials and advisors at the highest possible levels, that the showdown with Iran is entering the critical ”end game” phase. I’m hearing from people with direct knowledge of the plans that war could come in 2013.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is beginning to prepare the public in Israel and around the world for a “military option.” This is why he appeared on CBS’s “Face The Nation” on Sunday (see excerpt of transcript below).

The PM called the Iranian a “messianic, apocalyptic” regime bent on genocide, a reference to the Shia eschatology Khamenei holds that Iran must annihilate Israel and the U.S. to usher in the reign of the Twelfth Imam. Netanyahu also called the incoming Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, a “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” who has bragged in the past about negotiating with the West while secretly advancing nuclear enrichment. What’s more, Netanyahu vowed not to “wait too long” to stop Iran.

Joel Rosenberg | The Church’s Call to Stand With Israel

from Standing with Israel

On May 23, I had the joy of addressing several hundred pastors who were gathered in Washington, D.C. The venue was the 10th anniversary of the Watchmen on the Wall conference, organized by the Family Research Council and its president, Tony Perkins.

Tony asked me to specifically address the subject of “The Church’s Call to Stand With Israel.” It was an honor to do so, because in the challenging times in which we live, we urgently need leaders who truly understand God’s love and plan for Israel—and for her neighbors.

What does Bible prophecy say about the future of Syria? | Joel Rosenberg on CBN’s Stakelbeck Report

On this week’s edition of the “Stakelbeck on Terror” show, CBN correspondent Erick Stakelbeck and I Joel Rosenberg sat down for 30 minutes to discuss the current civil war underway in Syria, the President’s visit to the epicenter, and Rosenberg’s new novel, Damascus Countdown.

Most interestingly, Stakelbeck asked Rosenberg’s views on Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49 and the Bible prophecies that indicate Damascus will be judged and destroyed in the last days of human history. They also discussed where Syria fits in — if at all — in the prophecies of Ezekiel 38-39, what scholars call the “War of Gog & Magog.”
